Abuse in Later Life with the Crisis Center for South Suburbia

This presentation discusses the difference between elder abuse and abuse in later life. Highlighted are the persons that may be victimized as well as those that can be charged with domestic abuse under the definition of domestic abuse in Illinois. Also, discussed are the barriers for why victimized individuals do not seek help and how ageism impacts the way abuse in later life is addressed. Lastly, information will be discussed on how to both prevent and/or respond to abuse in later life.
