The act of sharing makes a difference in everyone's lives. It provides meaning and pride. Do you have a blanket that your grandmother knitted for you? A piece of jewelry that holds history? A relic that you cherish in your home? Perhaps, something as simple as family photos? Bring any item or a story that you would like to share.
By retelling your stories or memories, you imprint them more in your brain, and you become better and better at remembering every time you tell a story. Join us and the local history librarian Tom Javorcic, to revisit the past and talk about a piece of Oak Lawn history.
The Local History area is also looking for seniors who remember the "Oak Lawn Jazz Festival" years (1960s through 1980s). Did you attend the festival during those years and have memories or even photos to share? Contact the Local History Librarian, Tom Javorcic (708-422-4990 Ext. 530) for more information about the upcoming music legends exhibit!
